One always reads about mutants in the news. Are they real or are they a myth? Surley it is impossible for a person to have unnatural abilites, like manipulating metal substances, or being able to control the minds of others. These are frightening gifts, and certainly there are no beings capable of these things.
Humans were wrong. For the longest time these beings thought themselves alone in hte top of the food chain, dominating over everything beneath them. Now, a new species of humans are rising, newly discovered for the first time. Mutants. Beings with a certain X gene that sets them apart from the rest of humanity, by giving them superhuman powers. How will humanity find these new creatures? Will they welcome them in open arms? Or will they be frightened and lash out?
Two young mutants find themselves cornered, terribly frightened. Charles Xavier and Eric Lensher fight through the streets, looking for a means of survival in this frightening world ruled by humans that means them harm. The 24 year old Charles has no problem with humans and only wants to live peacefully with them, but his hot-headed 23 year old friend Eric, wants something more. To dominate humans, instead of Mutants being dominated by humans. A friendship is split apart as the two youngsters search for others with gifts to fuel their passionate fires.
Soon, two simple gangs are created. The X-Men, and the Brotherhood. Each fighting each other towards a different cause. But, deeper in the streets, there are gangs waiting to size up the challengers that worry them. They are stealing mutants away from these gangs and the first street mutants aren't happy. Their territoy runs wide, and these new mutants threaten their borders.
Everything has to start somewhere, and somewhere is always the Streets.
